Public involvement is a critical aspect
of plan formulation and implementation. The Huntington District
has made a concerted effort to maintain and excellent relationship
with the populace of the Town of Martin. The District has met with
and coordinated with local governmental bodies, citizen action groups,
state representatives, governors, congressmen and senators.
Past outreach efforts have included:
- Correspondence with local residents
- Coordination with the Town of Martin, Congressman Harold Rogers,
and U.S. Senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning
- Briefings to local and Congressional groups
- Issuance of news releases
- Participation at town meetings
- Completion of a Social Impact Analysis
